About the Pastor
Pastor Joy Eng-Matos is a “China-Rican” (i.e., Chinese-Puerto Rican), born and raised in New York City to a Chinese immigrant father and a Puerto Rican mother. Raised in the Catholic Church, she has loved God and wanted to serve Him for as long as she can remember.
After studying business for two years at NYU, Joy transferred to Central Bible College to pursue her calling. Joy moved to Massachusetts in 1985 and to Quincy in 2009. She has raised a family in MA and has served a number of churches in various leadership capacities. She was ordained in 2012.
Joy’s love and passion for Jesus is inspiring…and contagious. Ephesians 3:20-21 is one of her favorite Scriptures and New Day's theme:
"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen."
New Day-Quincy is a testimony to the “immeasurably more” of God.
As God works in your life, you too will come to know and believe that God is able…and willing…to act on your behalf. After all, He’s already taken the first step…by sending Jesus!
